The second edition of the PHSU Scientific Journal showcases a diverse collection of scholarly work spanning clinical medicine, translational research, and innovative medical technologies. This issue features original articles, review articles, research letters, case reports, and innovative imaging contributions that highlight the breadth of academic activity within our community.

The edition includes studies exploring genetic immunodeficiency, long-term surgical outcomes, access to dermatologic care in underserved populations, and the clinical implications of diagnostic imaging exposure. It also presents novel applications of artificial intelligence in medical visualization, complex endocrine and gynecologic case presentations, and investigations into infectious and dermatologic manifestations within community-based settings.

Together, these works reflect the journal’s mission to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, amplify clinically meaningful research, and provide a platform for advancing scientific knowledge relevant to Puerto Rico and the broader medical community.
